Γεια σου | Merhaba :icondragonglomp:

I come baaack! :D

So...as I was in Greece n Türkiye - decided to write a little more about my vacation... Hope it wouldn't be too boring - but for sure will be quite long ^^;

I went at the Rhodes (Ελλάδα) and for short time in Marmaris (Türkiye). Actually it's possible to write my feelings about that trip in one sentence: was just simply awesome! What was the best (and pretty surprising), my doctor had right that I should move to Greece or Turkey cos that climate is/was absolutely great for my health! :la: - I forgot there, that I have something like asthma! (even if avoiding smoking ppl was difficult xD) Unfortunately now I remember about it again Y^Y...ah anyway it's not a main topic xD

Well I do not like big hotels, so usually I go to some apartments or small hotels where is (comparative) peace x3 besides usually have a chance to meet some random ppl not only from hotel x)

At first...Greeks and Turks as southern ppl are mostly nice (at last I met only those xD) and usually got late...but it's not a big deal actually, especially in Greece (at last you're not freezing at the bus stop xD).
Sometimes I thought that Greeks do not have such a word as 'fast' in their vocabulary - except when they driving anything which has a wheels :D actually Greeks and Turks driving-skills/style are same! And it's make me smirking every time when I think about it :D for example some Greek guy driving scooter (on the main road on Rhodes) by one hand and wrote some sms on the cell-phone at the same time, while saw Turk driving a large motorcycle by one hand (btw guess only tourists drive in helmets), such a things like overtaking some vehicle at the third it's normal thing, as the same as taking bends (sometimes) on the hand-brake :D But what was the most interesting (at the same Rhodes or Marmaris) I hadn't saw any killed by cars animals (not like in Poland). Nevertheless being a passenger was nice - besides nice to think that not only I drive a car by one hand x) (oh and meaning animals I had on mind mostly cats - cos that's the main animal which you will meet on Rhodes or which see in Marmaris x)

First and the last view from airport on Rhodes i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… - Türkiye :XD:

What's funny/interesting both nations have more in-common then I "thought" - they even acting quite similar xD besides if you thought (and I know few persons which thought that) that 'evil-eye' you may buy only in Turkey - you're completely wrong x3 in Greece is many stuff with evil-eye that's hard to describe xD even saw few big one embedded in the thresholds of private Greek'houses xD
Btw I learned how is tea in Greek - that was very easy cos it sounds for me almost like in Turkish τσάι (tsai)=çay as the same coffee is easy cos its quite similar to polish name for one of insects (gr) καφές /kavesh/ - I had on mind that the end of the word sounds more like (pol) 'wesz' /vesh/ x)

Besides Greeks and Turks (guess not only those nations from this region) played τάβλι (tavli) in Greece or tavla in Turkey - are types of backgammon (which, if I remember correct, was created in Egypt - later played in Persia and Anc.Rome and so on...but some rules, usually are different for each of the varieties of the game). Ok... we learned how to play τάβλι (it has 3-parts like: πόρτες (portes), πλακωτό (plakoto), Φεύγα (feghra)) while πόρτες has actually almost the same rules as tavla, as the same Φεύγα is similar to Turkish moultezim. Then I still do not get the Turkish tavula which is nothing like any Greek version x.X nevertheless my favourite is πλακωτό - really relaxing game... ok, I like games like those ;P Anyway in both countries you may see quite a lot ppl playing in those games - it looks like a nationals sport (except tax evasion - cos that's the main sport - but actually not only in those two countries xD). Anyway during tourist-season mostly who play τάβλι or tavla are - old ppl x)

Ok so now I'll show you what I've seen at Rhodes and how I remember my trip ^^
Lets start at the city (village) where we stopped - Φαληράκι (Faliraki) its a place build only(mostly) for tourists - hotels, studios, clubs etc. But we stopped at the end of Φαληράκι - it was perfect even if had to take long walk to the shop or bus :D besides if you just have a little self-denial and go to the little church Προφήτης Hλια you may see some views like this: i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… (this is actually the Anthony Queen' bay), i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn…

Ok I'm to lazy to write here and right now all history of Rhodes and about monuments - just read about it by yourself if you wanna ;P

Return to Rhodes-city ^^; well the old part of it
...the new one looks like 'classic' southern city - which in my opinion is really nice xD
Mandraki (the port where stood the colossus): i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… | some streets and monuments: i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… - main street - οδό Σωκράτους,

Now my favourite city at the Rhodes - Λίνδος (Lindos) i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn…
acropolis: i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… (lol me n my friend xD)
streets n all: i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn…

What' more:
Μονόλιθος (Monolithos): i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn…
Κάμειρος (Kamirosh): i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn…
Butterfly valley (actually those are moths): i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn…

random stuff xD: i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… (btw greek hooch on Rhodes called suma x)
greek vehicles x): i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn…

Türkiye:
Marmaris - is a port - really beautiful and quite big one :D with a little, really little fortress (built by Suleiman) called Anatolia-castle ;3 Location of the fortress is a really lovely now in the past was a great strategic point; actually from this place Suleiman commanded the attack on the Rodos)
(btw Türkiye has trees!! well guess they have more intelligent building-law lol xD cos in Greece when some forest gets burned of - the area automatically becomes the building ground xD that's why near Athens is hard to find some forests xD)

i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn…
Anatolia-castle: i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn…
sorry photos were crappy cos my camera died...and it's cell-phone T^T

Sum up - I had great fun; and what's more finally learned Greek alphabet...dear God what for they needa 5 letters for "i" ^^;

And some trivia:
When my husband i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn… got tan - Greeks thought that he is Greek and spoke to him in their language xD lol

And I had some conversation with 'our' Greek which made me smiling xD When we came back from Türkiye:
Greek: God where have you been so long?
Me: In Turkey.
Greek (frowned - trying to looked the most angrily as possible): Why the hell you went there?
Me (with a grin): For shopping.
Greek (hardly try to not smile): Yeah...and what you bought?
Me: Mostly sweets.
Greek: Baklava?
Me: No, lokum
Greek (now smiling): Oh yeah it's justify! :D

....Oh hell yeah! Totally justified! - λουκούμι(lokumi) against lokum is (sorry but) terrible >.> Turks are better in it then Greeks x) ok in taste λουκούμι isn't bad (especially watermelon' one ), actually is good in taste but the consistence is different...it's weirdly soft...for me xD

I forgot to write...emm...I hadn't saw so many polish flags (as same russian, german, english, nordes even some turkish) as on Rhodes xD of course in Marmaris you can see mostly turkish one but it's not surpassing... Surprising was that nor on Rhodes nor in Marmaris I haven't seen japanese ppl...and can't find sushi - not that I cried for this...but usually everywhere where I've been I was able to find sushi and japanese tourists - but this time no...xD

Ufff...if someone read it to the end - I'm impressed :D
Hmm guess that's all xD
thanks n c'ya!
